‘Am no preacher, just a word archer; read along to find out why at all you needed to start with this prayer! Believe me; you’ll need it…..the whole hog of this blog!
THE SERENITY PRAYER
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change;
Courage to change the things I can;
And the wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time; enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
If I surrender to His Will;
So I may be reasonably happy in this life
And supremely happy with Him
Forever and ever in the next !
Well, let me not create the impression of being ‘holier than thou’! It is just second nature to begin everything with a prayer, especially if the task is going to involve persons other than me..this prayer is more for them!
Prayer is to the soul what chai (tea) is to the whole….simply invigorating!
You do not have to ascribe to a particular religious faith/order in order to say this prayer; as the title suggests, it is just a simple prayer that makes perfect sense amid the clamor and at the same time lends a tranquil feel, once said!
The atheist need not be dismayed, especially those in India; you may replace Him / He in the prayer, with Modi, perhaps!
For me, this time, a prayer is going to serve the purpose of starting this blog….to give me the strength to call a spade- a spade; to tell things as they are…right in the face, leave a piece of mind as a chew- stick for thought, pull at the conscience, try to make some see sense(once I have, myself), take in a dig if need be but spread a positive aura just for free! I don’t mean to be mean, but may be down the line it may mean mean! But where’s the fun if there isn't a pun and a wicked attempt to simply stun?!!
Let me describe the spirit behind this blog, thus:
A jolt here, a bolt somewhere;
a nudge here, a wily grudge there;
a jibe in here, a vibe out there;
a sledge here, a hammer there;
a spoke here, a jammer there;
some satire here, a flat tyre there;
at times below the belt will go the word, to some that may seem absurd..
but don’t you think I’ll spare you the horror, how/why?… jus look into the mirror
a punching bag this shall be,
for the weary, the teary, the scary, the fiery….and of course….. for ME!!!
Welcome on board……………..the roller-coaster!
Claimer: India is my country and all Indians are my buddies and
buddaas (now- now, it depends on how u read it- I meant ‘friends’), so one will require to have an appetite for the
desi-tadka and a fair understanding of the Indian ethos coupled with the chaos, in order to decipher the letter, the ‘spirit’ and the full toss!
